Exercise Physiology
What is exercise physiology?
- An “Accredited Exercise Physiologist” (AEP) is a tertiary qualified Allied Health Professional.
- They design and deliver exercise programs for the individual.
- They specialise in exercise for rehabilitation, exercise for health and well being, chronic and complex medical conditions, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, work conditioning and improvements in sports performance.
- AEPs are trained in preventing the onset of disease through exercise and lifestyle modification, in the treatment of disease, understanding interactions of exercise and pharmacology, managing multiple medical conditions, attending to the risk factor, health education and in providing post-acute exercise rehabilitation.
- Exercise Physiologists are 4-year university qualified allied health professionals.
- EPs provide physical activity and behaviour change support for clients with conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, depressions, cancer, arthritis, COPD and many more.
- Accredited exercise physiologistsTM (AEPs) are recognised as allied health professionals.
- They are eligible to register with Medicare Australia, the Department of Veterans Affairs and have recognition among a number of health insurers.
- At a state level, EPs are included within health professional awards and in compensation schemes akin to other mainstream health professionals.

- See your medical practitioner to find out if you are eligible to receive the medicare rebate for a exercise physiologist.

EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY - PILATES WORKS
Can i attend another class if I miss my regular class?
If you happen to miss a few classes during a term, you’re more than welcome to attend a make-up class. If you know that you won’t be able to attend your regular class, just give us a call and let us know you won’t be attending (someone else may need your space to do a make-up of their own). When you’re ready, give us another call, or the next time you’re in the Studio, remind us that you missed your class, and we can advise you of when make-ups are available for you program, and you can book into one. Make ups must be completed within the term, if you have any problems with your class attendance see reception or call us on 0247 277710
Can I suspend payments if I plan on missing classes?
If you plan on missing some time at PilatesWorks Pay Suspension is available. Just give us 2 weeks notice in writing, and your payments will decrease from the regular amount to just $10.00 + administration fee. If you do apply for Pay Suspension, your Minimum Term will be increased accordingly.
