Exercise Physiology
What is exercise physiology?
- An “Accredited Exercise Physiologist” (AEP) is a tertiary qualified Allied Health Professional.
- They design and deliver exercise programs for the individual.
- They specialise in exercise for rehabilitation, exercise for health and well being, chronic and complex medical conditions, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, work conditioning and improvements in sports performance.
- AEPs are trained in preventing the onset of disease through exercise and lifestyle modification, in the treatment of disease, understanding interactions of exercise and pharmacology, managing multiple medical conditions, attending to the risk factor, health education and in providing post-acute exercise rehabilitation.
- Exercise Physiologists are 4-year university qualified allied health professionals.
- EPs provide physical activity and behaviour change support for clients with conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, depressions, cancer, arthritis, COPD and many more.
- Accredited exercise physiologistsTM (AEPs) are recognised as allied health professionals.
- They are eligible to register with Medicare Australia, the Department of Veterans Affairs and have recognition among a number of health insurers.
- At a state level, EPs are included within health professional awards and in compensation schemes akin to other mainstream health professionals.

Lee Brodribb - Studio Manager
- Lee is our studio manager.
- Lee has an eye for detail. She likes the studio looking its best and staying that way.
- Her attention to detail ensures the studio runs smoothly.
- She likes to have a lot of fun, you will probably hear her laughing all the time.
- The next time you visit the studio have a laugh and a chat with Lee.
Kirsty Brecknell
- Kirsty is our marketing coordinator and loves to put together flyers, the studio newsletter and much more.
- She is a familiar face to the kiddies in crèche and increasingly to clients as she rapidly gains the knowledge to help everyone out.
- Kirsty is an experienced dancer and has taught various styles of dance.
- She enjoys fitness and from experience understands the importance of pilates for not only dancers but everyone.
Louise Wainwright
- New to the studio, Louise is rapidly meeting all of our lovely clients.
- Louise has a friendly and caring personality, so you can be sure she is great to talk to and welcome you when attending a class.
- Louise is for all those new clients who need assistance on what classes to book into or to book in a free assessment.

- Suzie is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, who recieved her 1st Class Honours and is currently a PhD Candidate
- Suzie is a casual lecturer and tutor at the University of Western Sydney (Musculoskeletal Injury & Rehabilitation)
- Suzie's Exercise Prescription Research Speciality is Chronic Lower Back Pain

- Suzie has been an integral part of the fitness and exercise industry for the past 15 years - as a personal trainer, pilates instructor, rehabilitation clinician and teacher trainer.

- A busy wife and mother (2 Children & 4 Dogs) who requires more then 24 hours in the day
- Hobbies: Sleeping, eating, reading non-academic publications, cycling and catching up with friends/family.

Wendie Sue - Operations Manager
- Wendy has over 30 years experience in the fitness industry.
- Wendie is the Head of General Populations and Corporate Services at PilatesWorks
- She has been a Senior Pilates instructor for PilatesWork since its inception over 7 years ago.
- Wendie is a Qualified Pilates Mat, Reformer & Small Apparatus instructor.
- Wendie has an Advanced teaching diploma through FATD
- Pilates Qualifications through: Pilates Institute of Australasia, Pilates Institue of Queenslaand and the Australian Institute of Fitness
- Boxing Qualifications through: Thump
- Wendie is highly qualified with a Cert III, Cert IV and Diploma of Fitness

David Dickinson
- David experiance as an athelete with the Penrith Panthers has allowed him to gain a fast understanding of the importance Pilates provides.
- His enthusiasm ensures that you are pushed to your limits in training and therefore can gain the most from your sessions.
- David shows exellence in introducing beginners to PilatesWorks. He will ensure you gain knowledge of Pilates terminology, homework stretches and more.
Trisha Klomp B.App Sc (Ex&SpSc) - Special Populations Manager
- Trish is an accredited Exercise Physiologist through ESSA (Exercise and Sport Science Australia).
- Specialising in Musculoskeletal rehabilitation, metabolic disease and cardiac disease rehabilitation.
- Regardless of whether you are an athlete or a have an injury or disease, she is University qualified to fix your problem or increase your performance.
- Trish is highly experianced in dealing with clients on Medicare, Workers Compensation, Department of Vetenery Affairs, Diabetes and much more.
- Her mission is to see everyone function in a healthy, fit manner and enjoy their life and family, without their disability or injury stopping them, Trish will make a difference to your life.
Liliana Balaguere-corts
- Liliana is the newest member of the PilatesWorks team.
- You will see Liliana in a variety of classes as she has an array of knowledge about both rehabiliation and general populations.
- Liliana's positive and encouraging nature will help to give you determination during each and every session.
Meredith Gadd
- Meredith is another new member to our PilatesWorks team.
- She has been working closely with our Seniors and Rehabilitation classes.
- Meredith is kind and caring, ensuring all your needs are met in classes and alterative exercises are given to those who suffer from pain.
Aaron Richards & Karen Monaghan - Spin Cycle and Pregnancy Specialists
- Aaron & Karen are specialist cycle coaches, be it mountain, road or triatholon.
- An elite athlete himself, Aaron understands the needs of the beginner cyclist to the elite professional.
- He has twenty years experience in the cycling field.
- Having trained through Mad Dog USA, Aaron and Karen are some of only a few in Australia to specialise in this style of cyclist training.
- If you want to win, or you want to begin, Aaron and Karen are the best.
- Mad Dog & the Cycle Specialist Karen get you to the place you want to be at.
- Karen is highly experianced with pregnancy/post partum. She has been a trained childbirth educator with A.C.E for over 20 years.
- Karen is a nursing mother's educator and counselor, group leader of Lower Blue Mountains group of "Australian Breastfeeding Association", A community representative on the Chilbirth Education Review Committee, Author of the Pregnancy exercise book "Life be in it" in Victoria and has worked as pre/postnatal fitness instructor for over 30 years.
